The best holiday I've ever had was in the Philippines. One day, I joined a group of tourists on a trip. We walked through a forest, across a river and climbed up a hill. I didn't know where we were going. Finally, at the top of the hill, in the middle of the trees, we came to a waterfall. It was a really quiet place, miles away from any towns or villages. It was so quiet and far away from modern civilization. It was amazing. We swam next to the waterfall and in the evening we sat around the fire and played guitars and sang songs under the stars.

Luke

The best trip we had last year was when we went to the theme park, WaterWorld. It's in a huge building like a giant greenhouse with waterfalls and pools and waterslides and you can go kayaking and canoeing. There are trees and flowers everywhere and even birds that fly around in the treetops. The temperature is always over 25 degrees. You feel like you're on a tropical island. It was great!

Last year, I travelled to Greece with an international youth team. We helped to clean up the beaches because it's so polluted. Plastic bottles and other rubbish get washed up on the shore and are very harmful to birds and other sea animals. It was hard work, and I was exhausted at the end of the holiday, but I really enjoyed it. I met interesting people from other countries. We stayed in tents on the beach. We played football on the beach and swam in the sea – the water was really warm.

Hanna

One of the most interesting trips I've been on was to Pompeii in Italy last autumn. You can still see the ruins from 20,000 years ago when the volcano, Mount Vesuvius, destroyed the whole city. The city needs money from tourism to help conserve the ruins, but the problem is that tourists also destroy the ruins by walking all over them. We stayed in a hotel in Naples and took a trip to the top of Mount Vesuvius. It was wonderful – I want to visit it again!
