Audio script

Adam Hi, Jackie. What are you doing here? You hate shopping.
Jackie Hi, Adam. Yes, I know, it’s true. I hate shopping. But I have to find a present for my brother. It’s his birthday tomorrow – he’s sixteen and I don’t know what to get for him.
Adam Hm. Well, what kinds of things does he like doing?
Jackie Um, he loves listening to music and watching films, and he really likes playing basketball.
Adam Well, why don’t you get him a book about basketball? There’s a good biography of LeBron James out at the moment.
Jackie I don’t know. He likes playing basketball, but he’s not really into reading.
Adam OK, well, what about a DVD of his favourite film?
Jackie Yeah, maybe. But he’s already got lots of DVDs. And I don’t know what his favourite film is.
Adam Oh dear! It’s not easy choosing a present, is it?
Jackie No, it isn’t! It’s really difficult trying to find a present for him.
Adam Oh, I know, what about something to wear? A new pair of trainers, maybe.
Jackie Oh, no, not trainers. They’re really expensive and I don’t want to spend more than about £20.
Adam Well, all right, not trainers. How about a hat?
Jackie A hat – that’s a great idea. He likes wearing hats.
Adam Well, there’s a fantastic shop on the High Street. It’s usually quite expensive, but there’s a sale on at the moment and everything is half price.
Jackie What’s it called?
Adam Boy Albatross. Do you know it?
Jackie Oh, yes, I know that shop. It’s got lots of cool stuff! Let’s go there now!
